Signage and Getting Around

We’ve already commented about how nice it is that the Thais post all their signs in multiple languages. They’re great at using the latest in digital technology to try and explain things, too, such as which lanes are open and which are closed.

These mean very little to the western way of thinking, though, and once again confirm why it’s a good choice for us to NOT drive when visiting a foreign land.

Especially one that drives on the opposite side of the road to what we’re used to.

Aside from keeping all that straight, it’s really hard to try to go through eight languages to figure out what the deal is while you’re navigating a swarm of motorcycles, the Tuk-Tuks, and these nifty little motorcycle carry-alls they have, that are about as long as a car and seem to have a very large wheelbarrow mounted to the front.
