Sumeth - our new guide

We had a new guide today (Monday). Sumeth lives in Bankok on the other side of the river from us, somewhat near the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Like other tour guides, he freelances for a couple of different companies, and he travels with groups sometimes to different places outside of Bangkok.

He gave us more factoids as we rode along. This is a very fertile region, and once you get outside of the City, farming is a primary industry (mainly rice). There’s also a number of industrial parks for manufacturing that are located there, although a number of people still commute into Bangkok for work.
